Opelousas General Health System is a 181-bed, full-service medical center serving St. Landry Parish. Both campuses feature on-site imaging services and medical laboratories, enabling prompt diagnosis and efficient patient care. Patients admitted through the Emergency Department have access to spacious private rooms designed to maximize comfort during their stay.
The main campus is a six-story facility located in St. Landry Parish, which has a population of more than 91,000 residents. Opelousas, one of the oldest cities in Louisiana, was founded in 1720 and shaped by Native American, Creole, French, and Spanish influences. Once serving as the capital of Louisiana, the city is rich in history and culture, offering a variety of museums, restaurants, and attractions. Known as the “Zydeco Capital of the World,” Opelousas is home to a vibrant music scene, with many renowned Zydeco musicians living throughout St. Landry Parish.
We are seeking Board Eligible or Certified Emergency Medicine Physicians for our Emergency Department at Opelousas General Health System. This is a full-time contracted position.
